Perfect (Nutella) Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are on constant rotation in my household – they are so popular I sometimes have to bake them three times a week! These cookies satisfy any chocolate, crunchy and chewy craving you might possibly have. Almost like a regular chocolate chip cookie, but made special with the addition of Nutella, which is a pantry staple in our home.

Ginger Molasses Cookies

I’ve posted this recipe before but I had to do it again – Ginger Molasses cookies are a perfect Fall-Winter cookie, it’s spicy and warm and comforting all at once. They are huge and chewy and covered in sugar, but absolutely perfect with a cup of tea or a glass of warm milk.

It’s also the absolute best cookie to sit down with and watch an episode of True Blood or Real Housewives on a cold, windy night. This recipe makes 6 large cookies, but if you want to make smaller ones, watch your time – cook for 2 minutes less or until the outside looks harder than the inside. Enjoy!

Banana Streusel Muffins

I don’t know about you, but I love anything with streusel on it. It’s silly, really, streusel is only flour, sugar and melted butter, thrown together – but a muffin is just a muffin until you throw some streusel on it. Really, try it.

summer is time for strawberry cake

I adore strawberries. I love cake. And I obsess over Smitten Kitchen’s blog. So to make this cake was really a no brainer, and also, J complained that I purchased too many “local strawberries” off the side of the road and no one was eating them. Well, eat this J! Really…

This cake is super simple to make, which makes life easy. It’s a great afternoon cake, goes well with cappucinos or champagne. Also, the pictures on SK’s blog are way better. It actually puts mine to shame! Other things that suck: I never, ever remember to put powdered sugar on top of treats (I think it’s my aversion to cleaning my sifter), and I can never get a picture of a whole dessert. Meaning, not cut into, not half eaten – because I always forget!

My Current Obsession: Ginger Molasses Cookies

As of late, I’m doing my best to be thrifty, especially when going grocery shopping. I’m trying to watch my spending and make every last cent count. You’ll be pleased to know that I’ve made dinner every single night this week – c’est fabuleux, non? I’m trying to stay away from boutique grocers such as Meinhardt and Urban Fare – although I love them so! – but I just can’t continue spending $7.00 on unsalted butter when Price Smart has it for $3.99 on sale. My apologies.

I’ve cut back on my Starbucks consumption, which isn’t overly maddening because of the Tassimo machine that makes my cappuccinos at home, but there’s one thing I do miss, and it’s something that I just recently discovered and is currently my favourite cookie of all time.

Oreo Cookie Cupcakes

I’ve been wanting to make these cupcakes for a long, long time, and they are finally here! I’ve searched through various cookbooks and blogs and could never find a vanilla-Oreo cupcake made from scratch that I approved of, so I tweaked my trusty vanilla cupcake recipe, which is adapted from Magnolia’s, and added Oreo Cookies! These are super sweet and yummy, perfect for kids and adults – all the adults I know still behave like children anyway!
