Homebodies

My husband often calls me a “homebody”. I really don’t like the term, but I do sometimes prefer to stay at home and cuddle rather than go out. If I’ve already been out that day, and have come home, I won’t want to leave the house unless it’s for something really, really important. Some of my “homebody-ness” is due to my baby boy, who usually displays his more frenetic behaviour in the evenings. But sometimes I’d just rather be at home, in front of the fireplace, or the tv, or the mac, scoping out furniture and design for the new house, cuddling with my kids, or just taking in the silence that exists after everyone goes to bed…

Would you say you’re a homebody – or not at all?

    so not. ; )
i need to work on the skill of staying at home, because most of the time i am itching to get out.
i love when awful weather forces me to stay home or indoors though. its almost a “guilt-free” ticket to stay home..although i have no idea what the ridiculous “guilt” is all about in the first place!?
I will say thought, that if i was placed in that photo with a cup of hot chocolate, a warm fire and some great music, i could be convinced to stay put!

I’m totally a homebody, although I agree with Kristin – I love being FORCED to stay in. There’s nothing better than having a good excuse to just bum around the house with the family. I do love getting out and about, but it’s all about balance – I love feeling accomplished and satisfied with my day and rewarding myself with a night on the couch. Honestly, it’s part of why I’ve lost so many friends since I got married and especially had a kid. I simply have no desire to hire a babysitter and go out at night. I like taking the kid with me during the day and then just hanging out with my husband once he’s in bed. Simple bliss.

I agree, it’s my favourite thing to do as well ;) I mean, it’s nice to get all dressed up for a special occasion, but cuddling is just as good!

Yes! I love that C and I have gotten into the habit of picking up ingredients/wine on the way home from work and just staying IN. We love seeing our friends and make a point to still go out, but rarely do we go out more than once a week. I just want to settle in and enjoy spending time with other half….

I am definitely a homebodie. There is nothing more relaxing than being in your undies/pjs and reading a book or cooking!

I love being in my pjs, I have “comfy” clothes that are reserved just for lounging!

I’m the EXACT same way minus the kids. Once I’m home, home. I kind of feel bad sometimes because I’m only 27. But oh we’ll. My sig other now just goes and hangs out without me a lot. Haha I can definitely relate. :-) oh and that photo looks so cozy I doubt I’d EVER leave there…only for food.

I’m totally, completely, a homebody. I prefer PJs + sitting at home with a glass of wine to going out and being anywhere. You’re in good company from afar! :)

I am definitely a homebody on weekends but during the week, I like to go out after work. I rather do all my errands and socializing during the week so I have the weekends to myself. Plus, now that my husband and I have our bar cart, it makes weekends so much better!

That sounds like a great idea, I try to do the menial tasks (groceries, mail, etc) during the week as well, but our weekends are usually pretty busy since it’s the only days where he makes an effort not to work :)

OMG, THAT LIVING ROOM! It’s so gorgeous. I just want to curl up there right now.

When I was younger I was anything but a homebody. I liked to be out of the house all the time and had a hard time just being *still* However, I’ve definitely become more of a homebody with age. Although I still love to get dressed up and put on a great pair of heels to go out, I appreciate having downtime at home just to chill, read & catch up on my shows.

I LOVE home. Of course, I’m an introvert so that kinda ‘splains it. I like being alone with my thoughts. Some of you ladies sound like you might be too. Basically, I spend my time at home daydreaming, experimenting with food and fashion, and creating art. The way I socialize is by making nice things for my friends. I like to think that they are collecting bits and pieces of me because I’m rarely around in real life lol. I go out every now and then but it has to be an intimate setting with people I’m familiar with. Oh and errands dont count :)
