Let’s hope it all goes fabulously!
I am sitting here writing this while preparing for the week ahead. With so much going on I thought I might as well pop in for a second and let you know my plans! Right now Princess is skiing at Ski Camp and J is working, & Prince is temporarily distracted by a bevy of toys on the ground and Disney Jr on the television (horrible mother alert! we watch tv!) – and I’m supposed to be doing some paperwork but I feel a headache coming on if I have to fill out any more project titles and references at the moment.
J leaves tomorrow for a 5-day stint working on a house in Ontario. This leaves me alone (!) for five days, which is both saddening because I will miss him, but also fills me with a tinge of giddiness as I think of all the girly movies I can watch while he’s away (Magic Mike, anyone?). I can also try to continue “sleep training” this baby boy of mine who just keeps it up with his night waking…
This week will also be full of preparations for Princess’ 7th Birthday Party, which is happening on Saturday and is Lego-themed. Lego, Lego, Lego, that’s all I can think about. I’ve been hoping that my party decorations get here on time – online shopping should definitely be an extreme sport. Depending on when you order, when the shipment gets packaged, which shipping method you choose, and the fear that customs might hold it at the border – it’s all very exciting and feels almost death-defying when it works out. But when it doesn’t? That just sucks. If this package doesn’t get here by Friday I’ll have to make an impromptu trip to the city and I’ll be left with double the party decorations. It was shipped out on Friday and is supposed to arrive in “3-8 business days”. I live in fear until DHL arrives. (And another note: DHL & I don’t get along. My packages rarely arrive on time with them. So double fear. Extreme.)
Along with hoping the decorations get here on time, I have to finish planning the food and think of games and make a playlist…
Also, it’s my birthday on Friday and I’ll be celebrating it with my two kids since the man won’t be back until after midnight. The big 2-9. What should I get myself? Flowers? A new charm for my Pandora bracelet? If money were no object I think I’d be looking for a new bag – my favourite ones are currently in the $400+ range – but money right now is something I’m trying to save and budget with, so perhaps I’ll go with the simple flowers & cake route. Chocolate always puts a smile on my face, and usually without the guilty price tag!
So I’ll be planning for Princess’ party, missing my man, and hoping that the babe sleeps this week… let’s hope it all goes fabulously!

January 6, 2013 at (138 days ago)I am DYING for my next night alone so I can watch Magic Mike! lol.
Unfortunately, it seems that terrible Norovirus (?) has hit the man, so I will be spending the next week wondering if I, too, will get it….
You should definitely order birthday flowers!!
